Original Acme D-day clicker

Originally developed for the airborne landings of the Allies of World War II on D-Day (Operation Overlord) on June 6, 1944, this Loud Clicker was manufactured under the highest secrecy by J Hudson & Co. in Birmingham.

If you were behind enemy lines at night, you were "asked" for alliance with a "click" and answered positively with a "double click". For security reasons, use of the Clicker was limited to 24 hours.
